Helen, So sad to lose Charles. He was always an inspiration to me on the many occasions we caught up. I came from Sydney to join a branch of consulting engineers Norman and Addicoat who were both from Perth and they rented his house as an office at 67 Outram st West Perth. The year was 1965! Over 50 years ago. I first met him at Xmas that year when he lived frugally at the rear of the office. He said he was lining room in the shed for when he was home and we could rent his "unit". My wife to be joined me before finding a unit in south perth. I paid $15 for his old belt driven Electrice frig which is still in our son's factory in Osborne Park. He told me about his early life and of his father's burial on the farm at Gibson which is recorded in "Lonely Graves". He used to ring or visit me at my Subiaco office always wanting to use refrigeration in his project and "what did I think". Great man and friend for sure!

Dear Helen and family, Please accept our deepest sympathy as we were so sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved Charles. He was such a talented and amazing man, we remember back to when Charles first arrived in Manypeaks to farm and the many achievements he made both on the farm and in the community. Remembering a kind and thoughtful friend. Charles shared countless hours and his extensive knowledge helping others in many different ways. We value his help with our computer and technology especially. Lovely memories of the times we've shared. Our thoughts to Helen. Also to David and his family. Thinking of you all and sad that we can't be with you today.

Charles, a wonderful mentor to many district people seeking knowledge on so many subjects including computer knowledge. He was so generous with his time. I really enjoyed my time learning with him and his memory always there each time I start up the computer. Thanks always. My loving thoughts go out to Helen.

My thoughts are with Helen and family at this sad time. Charles, I will miss our wonderful chats, your intelligence and knowledge about so many subjects, your compassion and insight. You were so generous with your knowledge, I always remember you taking the time to teach my son about computer programming when he was just 6 years old. Goodbye my friend, it has been an honour to know you.
