I began supplying Paul's York Street IGA fresh produce in 1995. He was always a loyal supporter and treated with me with respect. When he learned that our 25th wedding anniversary coincided with the opening of the new hotel he organised a place for us. He was often to in my prayers and I hope that his family, close friends and employees find comfort, encouragement and strength at this difficult time. I miss bumping into him when delivering our vegetables. May God bless you all.

All though I never got to have a good chat, I remember the shop west of Stirling Terrace, I remember the shop upper York St, I remember Paul always taking part in looking after his customer as I saw his example set every time I saw him. He would take his time to say hello, he was never rude. I am probably one of thousands who have this experience. I see him as part of my own family. May you rest in peace now Paul, we will all miss you and the love you gave everyone.

Someone sent this to me when my dad passed, “Being male is a matter of birth. Being a man is a matter of age. But being a gentleman is a matter of choice” I one thing I always used to appreciate about Paul was that he would always call it out as he saw it - speak his mind and be able to articulate his reasoning behind this and not sugar coat the issues. I bore the brunt of these on a number of occasions and took the learnings from them. RIP Paul and my thoughts are with the family.

Albany will miss the contributions of Paola from his smiles and friendly hellos to his behind the scenes community support that stretched far and wide. It will only be in his absence we will truely realise how much he gave to us all. It is already strange not seeing him around his favourite places in town having coffee
