DAPHNE MATTIE PERKS

Lovely to hear these memories of Aunty Daphne. Dad, her brother Keith, used to write to her regularly and I was always amazed at the beautiful handwriting in her replies, and loved hearing stories of her days on the farm. I only met her once as an adult when Heather & I came to Australia, in the year that she (and my Mum) turned 90, and had a wonderful holiday with Susan & Lindsey. Aunty was certainly a wonderful lady and we loved hearing her stories and learning more about our Australian family. I'm sure you will all miss her very much and we will be thinking of you over the coming days.

So many happy memories of Aunty Daph and our close family friendship over many years in Nannup and later in Albany. All the Christmas lunches, Guy Fawkes nights, swimming in the river, trips to Busselton, even an upturned dinghy in Hamelin Bay - we shared so much together and now have the wonderful memories to keep us smiling.

Great Nan, While I never got to meet you in person, I knew how much you loved us. Thank goodness for technology and FaceTime that could bring you into the living rooms/kitchens of Texas. I love that my children were able to share in conversations with their great-grandmother and see you. We will carry on your memory with Cary's stories of his beloved trips to visit you. We will shower Claire in love, as we know she will miss you and your weekly calls.

The oceans robbed us of our relationship, The airline brought us closer together. The pen filled in the details of lives, And the phone provided the song of voice. I miss you, Mum. Until we meet again, Rest in peace in the arms of our Lord & Savior, Your loving daughter, Claire
