Such a wonderful service and tributes to a lovely woman - my sister-in-law I was always sorry I did not live closer to. When we did catch up it was always fun, and such interesting conversations that ranged around all her many travels and activities. I was in awe of her lace making skills, and ability in all areas to just "get on with it" - doing a "gilliancuss" as you said Steve. I will treasure my memories. Sending love to you all at this sad time. xxxx

A much loved sister, sister in law, and aunt to the East Coast Metchers. So pleased Kristen our West Coast Metcher can be there. Gillian was a wonderfull combination of strength, calm and good humour and with our mother was the perfect counter to the uproar that often surrounded our father and me. Our thoughts are with Mike, Toni and Steve and the extended family and friends who will miss Gill greatly.

Gill our dear friend of over 60 years. From our early nursing days Gill's sincere, practical, optimistic, can do attitude and always a fun approach to life, has seen us through happy and sad times. She will be missed and always remembered by the Freo Nurses School of April 1961. Our hearts and thoughts are with Mike, Toni, Steve and families.

Her support of women and girls throughout her membership and her generous legacy for nursing students at Edith Cowan University are inspirational.
