DOROTHY EILEEN WISE

Dorothy was such a beautiful caring soul and will be missed by us all. I had the pleasure of helping Dorothy through Massage treatments during my visits to Albany. She always felt wonderful after the sessions. I loved hearing her stories of the past and enjoyed her sense of humour. What a life she had! May you rest peacefully now. I’d like to express my gratitude to aunty Dot and her family. Dot is my mother’s aunt and for all my life she has never once forgot to send me a birthday card and Xmas card. She has also done this for my daughter. It doesn’t seem like much but for me I’ve been grateful for every one I’ve recieved. In a world where everyone forgets about you it meant I got at least that one card every birthday and it meant so much to me. I never got to know her as well as I wish now I had but I know I’ll be grateful forever that she never forgot me.

To the Wise family, I am so saddened to hear of Aunty Dorothy’s passing. I pay tribute to her on behalf of my sisters Penny and Peta, my Mum Lois, Uncle Alwyn and my grandparents Brother and Sister Wright. They will be there to greet her.

To Ron and all the Wise family our condolences to you all on the passing of a beautiful lovely lady Dorothy. How she will be missed by many. I’d like to express my gratitude for Dorothy’s involvement in the lives of my brothers and I. Our mum, Dorothy’s sister, died 60 years ago. in many respects Dorothy became our substitute “mum” and was a constant part of our lives via telephone and visits all these years. I also think we were important to her in that we connected her to the family she left so many years ago in Sydney. Over the generations there is a pattern of the the women in our maternal line being separated by considerable distance from their family on marriage, but still maintaining regular contact with parents and siblings. Mum and Dorothy both continued this trend dramatically in moving interstate - strong women who maintained family bonds over time and distance! And thank you, Uncle Ron, for all the times you found something to do while Dorothy and I sewed quilts at my place. Love to our extended family from Sandra, John and Trevor and their families.

To Ron and the Wise family, my sincere condolences with the passing of Dorothy. She was such a lovely lady and it was an honour to have known her. Although only for a short period, she have left a lasting impression in my heart of a true daughter of the Living God, and a wonderful mother to the family.
