Margaret was adopted into our family by my grandads big sister Fanny. Whilst she was a Dickinson, to me she was always a Skinner, and a proud member of our family she was. When we fostered two baby girls, she took them into her heart like she did with almost everyone she met. I can’t imagine there is anyone with a warmer and more selfless nature than my Aunty Margaret. I will miss her caring long distance phone calls and Karen and I were so happy to spend time with her and Jill last year. It was with a sense of joy and pride that I watched her play the organ rehearsing as always, with the choir in the church. This is how I will remember her; bringing joy to so many. Thankyou to all of those who paid tribute to Margaret today, its such a shame that she couldnt play that organ one more time.

Much loved Aunty to many - including us. Always welcoming, unfailingly a lady of grace and faith. We will always be reminded of her whenever we hear "Jerusalem" being played. Faithful vigil ended watching, waiting cease: Master, grant your servant her discharge in peace. Peacefully unto God.

Margaret was the strongest woman I had ever met. I always admired her and her ability to overcome any challenges with a smile and determination. Margaret met my father (the late John Hobbs) when they both moved into RAFFA 20 years ago and they formed a very special friendship. Over the years they did a lot of travelling together and enjoyed life experiences and looked after each other. We always enjoyed coming to Albany and going out to dinner, with Margaret’s favourite food being potato wedges. It was a delight to see how much she enjoyed them. Margaret was special and an inspiration to us all. We will miss you but never forget you, Alison & Neil.

Condolences to Jill and family. Margaret was more than a friend—she was a beacon of warmth, wisdom, and unwavering kindness. Her presence lit up every room, and her smile was the kind that lingered, wrapping around you like a comforting embrace. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel seen and valued. Whether through a thoughtful word, a shared cup of tea, or a quiet moment of understanding, Margaret touched lives in ways that words can scarcely capture. Her generosity knew no bounds. Margaret gave freely of her time, her heart, and her spirit. She celebrated our joys and reminded us—often with a gentle smile—that love and compassion are the greatest gifts we can offer one another. Though she may no longer walk beside us, Margaret’s legacy endures. It lives on in the kindness we extend, the laughter we share, and the memories we cherish. In honoring her, we carry forward the light she so graciously bestowed upon us. Rest peacefully, dear Margaret. Your spirit continues to inspire and guide us.

To Jill & family. So sad that dear Margaret has left us all. We have been close friends since her days at Dudley Park School when she was our Deputy & she just enjoyed looking after everybody in her own special way whether it was a note of appreciation or some of her famous baking. She also looked after Dudley the stray cat and any magpies that crossed her path. We loved catching up with her over the years with numerous visits and phone calls. What a absolute treasure she was and she will never be forgotten. We now have our own little Angel in heaven. Thinking of you all. Kay & John McDonald

Margaret was a much-loved mother and grandmother. Although being in Perth, we would only see Margaret on occasions, and it was a joy to see her and listen to her playing her music which she loved and also be able to have a lovely chat with her. Margaret was always supportive of her family, in particular having a very close relationship with Jill her loving charming sometimes 'zany' daughter. We have become very close to Jill over the years and Margaret would sometimes keep in touch with us. About 18 years ago, Jill presented me with a warm winter scarf that Margaret had knitted for me. I was amazed as it was almost 2 meters long. The scarf has been my 'go to' scarf every winter and I am paranoid about looking after it. Thank you so much Margaret. Our thoughts are with the family at this time Margaret, loved by all, rest in peace.

On behalf of Joan Saxon... My dear little Margaret. The first time I met Margaret I became aware of the beautiful sense of serenity that surrounded her. As the years passed it never left her. I loved being in her company as her presence uplifted me. As our friendship grew, I saw what an exceptional woman she was, highly intelligent, gracious, generous, softly spoken, loving and dedicated to living by her Christian principles. As well as the great love for her family, she was tirelessly connected to supporting and being actively involved in her love for her Church and wider community. As the years went by, Margaret's health began to decline even to the point, on some occasions, when we thought we were going to lose her. Her loving daughter, Jill, was always there to pull her through. Jill's mother's wellbeing was the most important thing to her and the bond I saw between them both was truly beautiful. One of the factors in Margaret's many recoveries was her strong desire to get back to playing the organ in the Church again and with Jill's encouragement, love and support, she succeeded, to our amazement! Her desire seemed to have helped pull her through. Margaret's music touched many she was unaware of. This was one incident told to me by a relative of mine: As he passed St Johns Church in York St, the most beautiful organ music was wafting out to the street through the Church door. Being in a state of deep grief over the recent passing of his beloved wife, he was drawn inside to seek solace. The music filled him with peace and acceptance that she was in God's care. It was in that closeness to God he came to terms with his grief. Margaret was the provider who sent the music that rippled out to this man, unknown to her. Her loving friend, Joan.

I always wished Aunty Margaret was my real mum. I’ve loved and respected her for my whole life, she will be sorely missed. A life of helping others, putting their needs first, I learnt a lot from your quiet wisdom. And Margaret was the only person to bring me Rice Bubbles at midnight. Love always and sympathy for Mark, Jill, Autumn and Brooke.

Oh Margaret, you were such a force to be reckoned with in such a tiny package! You lived your life with such kindness, integrity and wit and I will miss your friendship and compassion greatly. Your fortitude during great challenges, through pain and with such grace and positivity, always, has been an example to me and I have held you as an example of how I wish to treat people. It is with great love and respect that we say goodbye and pass healing thoughts to your family at this sad time.
