To dear Jenny, sincere sympathy on the loss of lovely Clive. He was a gentle giant, and all the tributes I have read today show how he affected so many lives in a positive way. A life well lived, especially with you by his side. His passing will leave a huge gap in your life, but I hope the many happy memories will provide some consolation.

Our deepest sympathies to all of Mr Kendrick’s family, friends and fellow students. Clive was a truly wonderful caring and calm teacher and such a supporter of all of us who carried on in music. I’m grateful that he saw something in me as a 15 year old, and accepted me into Mod on a Chorale Scholarship. He also taught my sisters Lizzie and Bec, and we all have wonderful memories of him. I’ll never forget him as the conducting Buddha in the Mikado… and later being in touch with him at the Opera House in Sydney, in Perth, Walpole and not long ago in Albany. His legacy will live on in all of us. It was an honour to be at the service today, representing my sisters and Perth Mod school friends. RIP dear Mr Kendrick, and thankyou for all you’ve given to so many of us. Emma Matthews (Lysons)

We were privileged to have known Clive for a relatively short time but for an inspirational and true quality time. What a master of numerous fields, may the orchestras and choirs be in top form and may all of the wood cuts be true. Sincere condolences Jenny and families.

I am so sorry that I am unable to make it there today to say bye Mr Kendrick. You were an important person in my early journey in music, my teacher in yr 11 and 12, and the one who made my change to percussion possible in yr 11. The flow on in my life (and in much broader circles) from that were significant. As were the skills I learnt in sight reading, singing and the rest. I only wish I’d been able to spend some time with you after you moved down here. Farewell, and thank you

How lucky we were that Clive and Jenny moved in next door and brought so much love and kindness into all our lives. Our children will never forget Clive’s warmth and friendliness—Easter egg hunts, first piano performances, chats, and fishing rod chocolates coming over the fence! Although we only knew Clive in recent years, we will always cherish the memories of our times together—learning about his life before Albany, his many achievements, and the countless lives he touched. Clearly an intelligent and creative man with many talents, it’s his genuine love for family and friends that stood out the most. Clive, your calm and gentle presence will be deeply missed next door. Our love and thoughts are with you Jenny and family.

My deepest sympathy to Mrs Kendrick and family for your sad loss of your loved one. My son, Scott, a little country kid from Denmark, was extremely privileged to have been awarded a music scholarship at Perth Modern School, from 1986 to 1990, under the headship of Mr Kendrick, who was the Senior Master of Music during those years. The music students and staff thrived in the atmosphere Mr K created at Mod. He encouraged excellence, was kind, compassionate, approachable and, at times, quite humorous. A truly lovely man. Vale Mr Kendrick!

Clive Kendrick, was all of the above mentioned in people’s tributes. For our family he helped in shaping a difficult transition from country to City life. He auditioned our daughter for a scholarship to Perth Modern High School. He reminded me of this when years later we re-connected back in the Country in Walpole. Even though our daughter did not become a musician, it was pivotal in experiencing life to the full for her - she loved her life in the company of creative people. Clive and Jenny retired in Walpole and we later re-connected and shared our love of artistic ways, that to this moment is precious. Thank you for enriching our lives Clive. Love to Jenny! Vichnaya Pamyat- (Eternal Memory).

Though my time with Clive was brief, the impression he left on me was lasting. I had the privilege of working at his home, and in that short time, I witnessed his warmth, kindness and genuine spirit. Clive was a man who welcomed others with generosity and grace, making even fleeting connections feel meaningful. His presence was one of quiet strength and authenticity, traits that will be fondly remembered by all who had the chance to know him, however briefly. To Jenny and family, my deepest condolences. May you find comfort in the love and support of those around you and in the memories that will always remain.

It’s with a heavy heart that we write this tribute to Clive. We feel so privileged to have known him over the years from Rossmoyne days through to Walpole and Albany. Clive had an enormous impact on us in so many ways. We will not make another trip to the south west without remembering his warm hospitality, lovely food and wine shared in your home. We will not visit another art gallery without remembering his exceptional master skills at wood turning. Jenny it is impossible for us to contemplate the beautiful Kendrick household without Clive. Nevertheless we know all those wonderful vibes and memories will continue to prevail as we fondly remember a kind gentle soul with the biggest heart. Clive we celebrate your life! As new students to High School in 1962, Mr. Kendrick was our Maths teacher. He taught us Algebra, he made it interesting, understandable and "learnable". He had the ability to "teach" and he had good students to prove it. He was a man of large stature, demanded discipline and in turn, got respect. We all succeeded under his tutilidge. Then he left to go on exchange to Canada and, the wheels fell off. We were lucky to have him attend our re-union in 1992. He will always be remembered as our teacher, someone to be looked up to and to thank for his dedication to his craft. Vale, Mr. Kendrick, from the Class of '62, Narrogin Agricultural Senior High School. Our condolences to all of his family.

I was so lucky to have had the experience of being taught by Mr Kendrick from 1988 to 1992 at Mod. I remember him as a calming, fair, dedicated, and incredibly gifted and knowledgeable Teacher. He was also a natural in the art of educating, so I had the best of both worlds. He made an impact and imprint on my life, and on many lives and his legacy will live on. One of my fondest memories is of Mr Kendrick sitting in the main performance hall, week after week, whenever I had my Singing Lessons. He sat and watched my lessons regularly and I felt incredibly honoured and privileged to have his presence and support. RIP Mr Kendrick. My sincere condolences to his family. X

Darling Jenny, deeply saddened with the news of Clive leaving us to our memories. What a beautiful man - so rich in character, in talent, in humility and joy. Every shared moment we had on one side, or the other, of our Walpole plots was pure joy. The wine, the food, the natter. So special. Sending love to you and to dear Clive always xx

I only knew Clive for a short period. His fine wood turning was unique and partnered with Jenny’s artistic skills gave us a level of achievement which was inspirational. I say this with a smile, Clive also showed me the correct way to sip a malt whiskey, that’s with an angels kiss. Clive, may Gods angels give you a true angels kiss. Rob & Sandra

Dear Mrs Kendrick, it was because of you that I had the privilege to be involved and contribute to the Music program at Mod with your amazing Mr Kendrick. He guided so many of us through the tricky path of adolescence and deepened our love and passion for music, all music. Such a huge influence on so many amazing people and his passing leaves me with a crushing sadness Condolences to you and all your family on the passing of Mr Kendrick. Oh Jen, the heart wrenching loss of your darling Clive will be felt deep within your heart, even though we know he is now at peace. Together, you and Clive have lived your life in partnership with extraordinary creativity, extensive travel, intelligent insights, beautiful music, valued family connections, close friendships, a welcoming home and shared devotion of love and care. It was so lovely to visit you both in March and feel the warmth of your beautiful home, overlooking some of Albany’s landscape and sea. I can now imagine you all there, sharing memories of Clive and reminiscing about good times spent together. The more we love, the more we feel loss, but sadly, it is a condition of living this wonderful journey of life we’re all on. Sending love and warm hugs to you, from us both. Arthur and Sue XX

Clive was a gentleman- so full of quiet humility but also a sense of fun and a ready smile. He made us feel at ease in his presence and was always open to a good conversation, good wine and delicious food .Clive was a talented wood turner and he and Jenny produced exquisite pieces together. We were inspired by their relationship and genuine love and care for each other . A great loss to us but an invaluable presence returning to God’s kingdom. Rest in peace.

For those of us who are “the lucky ones” in life we meet, often by chance, a person or two who enrich our life beyond anything imaginable. Darling Jenny, you and dearest Clive are two such wonderful friends in our life and we are grateful beyond measure for our wonderful friendship and amazing times we have shared. Clive was a true “man of substance” with such integrity, intelligence, extraordinary teaching skills, culinary expertise above and beyond, magnificent wood-turning and, of course, a Canasta juggernaut, to mention just a few of his incredible attributes. Clive oozed empathy, a quiet strength, humility and sincerity in everything he did and was so highly regarded and respected. He was the most loving husband to Jenny, an adoring father to his children and an exceptional friend to us. How he will be missed. Farewell, our dear, dear friend. Our deepest sympathy to beautiful Jenny and all the Kendrick family.

Neil and I want to express our heartfelt condolences to our dear cousin Jenny and to the Kendrick family at this very sad time. We loved Clive and will miss him deeply. We cherish the happy memories of our times together in Walpole, and especially in France. A gentle, humble, artistic, and devoted soul has left the world’s stage — a remarkable man who made a lasting impact: an extraordinary educator, musician, woodturning craftsman, culinary master, and so much more. He was family — but we loved him also as a dear friend and brother. Adieu et repose en paix, cher ami…
