Abigail was a deeply observant artist and a warm-hearted person. Her garden was a haven for wildlife, and her studio was an absolute delight to visit. I first went there when I was working on an article about Abigail and her art, and it was such a fascinating visit. The meticulousness of her artistic process has given the world so many delightful studies of our native wildlife. She was also very committed to using her art to make statements about the extinction crisis, creating some paintings on larger canvases which made stark and heart-rending statements about what we are losing. Abigail was also a tireless advocate for the arts in our region, not only running her own exhibitions and open studio days, but also supporting other artists in their development. It was a huge pleasure to know her, and her passing is a huge loss to our arts community, and to those of us who love wild things. I hope that her art will be treasured in many homes in Albany and beyond, where her spirit will still be singing through her birds, and blooming with her wildflowers.

Abigail will forever hold a place in my heart. Her beautiful artwork is in every room of our home. I shall miss visiting her gallery studio and her exhibitions. She loved my music and often painted to it - one of my all time biggest fans as I will always be - of her art. Rest easy Abigail.
