I was saddened to hear the passing of Garry. He is remembered as a kind, loving and gentle man of God. I remember as a young mum he told me I could pray for my family while I was hanging up the washing on the clothes line. I was amazed and have never forgotten that. A beautiful service and tribute to Garry. Sending much love to all the family.

To Grandma, and all those remembering Grandpa. I am sad not to be able to be with you all there at this time as I am still in Indonesia. But I am comforted knowing that Gramps has gone to be with our Lord––the meeting that he has long been looking forward to. To have a Grandfather like him is one of my life’s greatest blessings. The kindness, faithfulness, generosity, gentleness, prayerfulness, and love that Grandpa showed to those around him allowed others to see God’s work in him, and the power of the Gospel. It is also a comfort knowing that Grandma is so well loved and supported by friends and family. Just like my siblings and I did as little children on the Bibbulmun, I aim to follow in the footsteps of my Grandfather, on the same track towards heaven. I hope many others who knew him will too.

My deepest condolences Elaine. In Loving memory of Gary . I will remember Gary Fondly, with such wonderful memories of the times we all spent together, filled with love, laughter and so many special moments that will always hold a place in my heart. One memory I will always cherish is Gary running beside me in the Perth to Albany Race. A special memory that will stay with me forever, reminding me of the wonderful person you were and the many good times we all shared. You will be sadly missed Gary, but never forgotten. The memories we made together will live on bringing smiles through the tears and reminding me of the happiness you brought into our lives. Rest peacefully, Gary . You will always be remembered with love & affection. To my beautiful sister Elaine, Please accept my deepest sympathies. My heart goes out to you during this very sad time. May you find comfort in remembering all your good times, sharing your favourite memories and holding close the love and laughter that Gary brought into your life. Rest peacefully, Gary. You will always be remembered with Love and affection. ❤️ Graeme x

On behalf of the Byford Baptist Church Inc, I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to Elaine, sons and families on the sudden passing of their dearly loved husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather Garry. Garry was our Pastor at Byford BC for a number of years in the 1990s. He was a very faithful and diligent preacher of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. He was always interested in people and encouraged them in their Christian walk to be true, caring and faithful followers of Jesus Christ. May God comfort you all as you say farewell to a wonderful man who has now been promoted to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Gwenda Cassidy, Church Secretary, Byford Baptist Church Inc.

To dear Elaine and family......I was so sad to hear of the death of your loved husband and father. I have fond and lasting memories of Garry when he was Pastor at Byford Baptist Church in the 1990s. He was a quiet but caring man who loved his wife and family, enjoyed the company of others, loved running and later walking the Bibbulmun Track (4 times) with Elaine. He has moved from running this race to be with his Lord Jesus Christ. Much love, Gwenda C

Dear Elaine and Families, We extend our sympathy and love to you all. Unfortunately, we are unable to attend Garry's service as we are unwell but will watch the live streaming. God bless you all in your time of both sadness and rejoicing as you farewell your beloved. Many memories of shared happy times particularly on the September long weekends at the Stirling Ranges looking for wildflowers, watching the gliders overhead and sharing around the campfire. Those were the days!! Love and prayers, Sheryl and Steve x

To Elaine and family. I remember Gary as a deeply caring pastor and Richard and I have always been grateful for his care, concern and frequent visits to my Mum in Law in her last days. I know she shared a lot with him and valued his prayers. My thoughts and prayers are now with you.
