HELMUT WERNER LENKEIT

Opa Helmut came into my life later than most grandfathers do, but he, Rosie, Tom and the whole family welcomed us with open arms and made us feel like we belonged. I will always remember his warmth, his cheeky smile and his laugh. I am especially grateful that Helmut and my mum, Regina, found each other. She was so happy to have him in her life. One of my favourite memories is seeing them dancing together at her 60th birthday celebration. Looking back, I probably didn’t fully appreciate what a gift those family connections were. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve come to value them more and more. I only wish I had stayed in touch better over the years, and that my daughter had had the chance to know him too. Opa, There will never be any words that do your living life justice, however two statements that attest to the life you lived. ‘Leaving today better than yesterday’ And ‘A standard you walk past is a standard you set’ You’ve built and left our family an incredible legacy that will live on in each of your grandchildren and great grandchildren until our times come to and end. Graeme and I are sending all of our Love and condolences to Helmut and Rosie's family. Helmut was an amazing man full of love and we are so thankful for all of the years that we got to see him and talk with him. He lived his life with Jesus at the centre and that shone through for all to see. We are so fortunate to have known this wonderful man. Mike and I send our sincere condolences to the family. It had been our very honour to be a part of Helmuts life over the last 25yrs or so. He and Rosie have been an integral part of our church family all this time. Such a joyful and blessed life they have had. Helmut always showed his love and praise to God for being alive each day and served with his whole heart. Such an inspirational man, his devotion to Rosie, to the Lord and his family and friends. A beautiful soul, Now truly living for eternity. He impacted our lives, treasured memories. Sending all our love Lisa, Mike and the Harvey family.
