We benefit daily from his foresight and planning, as we administer the Court of Appeal along the lines which he conceived. We continue to apply the wisdom and insights to be discerned from his carefully crafted judgments. We remember his insight and compassion as a judge. The judges and staff of the Supreme Court of Western Australia offer our sincere condolences on the passing of the Honourable Christopher Steytler AO KC, who served as a judge of the Court for more than 14 years, including as the inaugural President of the Court of Appeal. He was greatly respected by the legal profession and by all of his colleagues at the Court. Chris will long be remembered for his intellect, dedication, and unfailing courtesy. He will be sadly missed.

A respected member of the legacy firm Parker & Parker, Chris made a significant contribution to the firm and the Perth legal profession before embarking on a distinguished career in the judiciary, culminating in his appointment as Parliamentary Inspector of the Corruption and Crime Commission.
